2024 theme is “Wetlands and Human Wellbeing.” In the Philippines, DENR-EMB, thru the release of DMC No. 2023-01: Additional Guidelines for Projects Applying for an ECC which are within or with close Proximity to Protected Areas (PAs) and/or Ramsar Sites, purposely ensure the protection and conservation of identified PAs and Ramsar sites as an important tool in climate change adaptation and mitigation. This is in line with the implementation of the Presidential Decree 1586 (Philippine Environmental Impact Statement System), an additional guidelines in the processing of application of certain ECCs; a primary consideration in the development of our  future solar and wind projects.
