San Ildefonso Alternative Energy Corp.
Built adjacent to the Bulacan Solar Energy Corp. (BSEC), the 22.0 MWp San Ildefonso Alternative Energy Corp. (SIAEC) Project is located in San Ildefonso, Bulacan, making it CleanTech’s second solar project in the area. Chosen for its proximity to the BSEC site and for its available grid capacity, the site is currently in its construction stage.
With 64,380 solar panels and 5 inverters, the 24.5 ha site has the capacity to generate 30 GWh every year. The plant therefore has the capability to provide power to approximately 15,000 households, which translates to an offset of 18,000 tons of CO2 annually.
Aside from the benefits provided by renewable energy, the project has also brought economic opportunities to the host community in which it operates. Since the start of the project, construction was able to create at least 300 jobs in the area while 10 permanent jobs will be generated upon completion. Furthermore, aside from taxes, the project also generates one-centavo per kilowatt-hour (P0.01/kWh) of the Electricity Sales for the host community through the provisions of ER 1-94.
